Our workforce is essentially ASPIS BANK`s driving force. In view of the Bank`s development and the specialised needs arising, great emphasis has been given to the recruitment of highly specialised and experienced employees, allowing us to continue providing high quality services to our customers. Our personnel`s image is composed by merits such as diligence, organization, spirit, analytical and synthetical thought and good communication skills. The Bank recognizes that our dedicated workforce was critical in achieving our strategic objectives. Relating objectives with productivity, valuation of our personnel based on merit and performance, and offering excellent career prospects are the cornerstones of the effective management of our human resources. As of December 2003 the Bank`s personnel had increased by 22% to a to 907 employees of varying fields, from 742 in 2002. The continual increase in staff numbers is the result of the constant expansion of its branch network (from 36 in 2001 to 66 in 2003) and of the range of product and services it provides. As of December 2003, 48% of the Bank`s employees are college or university graduates, while 10% hold graduate or doctorate degrees. The average age of employees is 34 years. Regarding executive management the average age is 46 years while for the rest of the personnel it is 32 years.
TRAINING Once again this year, the Bank, having as its main objective the continual reinforcements of its personnel`s knowledge in Banking and Finance, as a necessary element for the constant upgrading of our quality of service, carried out 152 training courses, with a total of 2.400 training hours and the participation of 1.713 people. The usual training sectors are sales and marketing, lending and loan analysis, risk management, new computer applications, new products, mutual funds etc. The Bank`s training program also includes:
- Orientation course work and practical training familiarizing newly hired employees with the Bank`s culture, policies and operational procedures.
- A series of wide-ranging high-level training sessions available to all employees, offering updates on market developments and new technology issues.
The Bank`s in-house training staff has played an important part in the achievement of our training goals. By taking advantage of the knowledge and experience of our executive staff and with the proper technical preparation, they greatly contribute personnel training.
